Tatted Elegance
I just found these beautiful doilies with hand made tatted lace. Tatting is almost a lost art. It requires lots of patience and lots of time to create lace like this.
I would love to have someone teach me this beautiful lace making skill. For now I will appreciate the talents of the woman who made these long ago.
The cameo necklace was also a recent thrifted treasure.

Apple of My Eye
We were blessed with an abundance of apples from our apple tree this year. Lots of beautiful green granny smith apples. I've already used some to bake an apple pie. I love apple pie with lots of cinnamon don't you?
We are finally starting to get a little fall weather. Cool mornings and evenings and the leaves on the trees are turning the most gorgeous shades of oranges, reds and yellows.
I am excited to be going on a religious retreat this weekend. I am sponsoring someone who is just beginning their faith journey. I thank you if you can pray for the Holy Spirit to touch each life and heart for all those on the retreat.

Tweaking the Mantle
I know you have seen my fireplace before, but I have added a few things for fall. Soon the tole tray will have to be taken away when the weather turns cooler and we start having fires in the fireplace again.
The fireplace surround is made up off lots of broken china.
At night the fireplace mantle glows from the flameless candles. Have you discovered these candles yet? They are so realistic and are on a timer so they automatically turn themselves on and off everyday and I don't risk starting my house on fire.
The nights and early mornings are quite crisp and the leaves on the trees are starting to change color.
Now if only the days would get cooler, then it would really feel more like fall.
