To be Still

Sometimes (actually often times) I find myself being still.  I find appreciation and beauty when I am still.  Sometimes God speaks the loudest to my heart when it is quiet and I am willing to listen.  I always pray that I am open to what God wants me to do.  I pray that He will use me to the glory of Him.

I can pray and be thankful and just listen not only with my ears, but with my heart and soul.

Lately, I have been praying about something big.  Something that I am not ready to talk about.  For those of you that pray, would you mind saying a prayer for me?  Please pray that 

God will clear the paths and that He will use me in the way that I am asking.

 I could not thank you enough dear friends for doing this for me.

I just wanted to share with you these beautiful blue hygrangeas.  I know many of you have them in your gardens.  They do not grow where I live, so when I saw them at the grocery store, I had to pick them up and bring them home.  Each lovely flower is so breath-takingly beautiful.  Even my kitty Surprise loves them.  She loves chewing on all my house plants.  I guess I'll have to get her some new kitty cat grass to chew on instead of my plants.

I hope that you find beauty in something today that makes your heart smile and your soul sing.

Trash or Treasure?

So if you saw this on the curb would you of taken it home?

I couldn't believe my eyes when I spied this beauty on my walk around the neighborhood last evening. It is huge and hand painted with these beautiful flowers.  One person's trash has become my treasure.

How could I possibly leave this on the curb?

Obviously I didn't and I think it makes a great fireplace screen for the summer months when we aren't using the fireplace.

Whoooooo's This?

Look who is living at my local home improvement store high above in the rafters in the garden center.

Most people don't even notice them.

 They always seem to be snoozing.

There are a pair of them.  These owls are huge and are so very happy to stay.  I look for them every time I visit, and this time I had my camera.  Aren't they beautiful?

Sometimes all it takes to make you smile is something small.

It seemed as though the theme for today's thrifting would be flowers. These vintage pillowcases were scooped up in a second.  They just make me smile.

Old Bottles, China, a Castle, and a Mystery

I love the thrill of the hunt.  Finding something totally unexpected that puts a smile on my face.  I do collect things for myself, but must also stock my antique booth with fresh merchandise so off hunting I go. 

I found a few old bottles.

This awesome and huge wicker wrapped wine bottle.

I fall weak at the knees for vintage china.

I get lost day dreaming in this print of a castle and gardens.  I want to go there.

And I found this clock.  It is a "project" clock.  It was only a couple of dollars.  It is missing parts, but I thought I could do something with it.

Here is the mystery.  While fooling around with the clock out pops this. . . .

A key hidden inside of a clock.  I wonder how long it was hidden there.  Was it important?  Did anyone besides the one who hid the key there ever know about the key?

It's a mystery to me.

What lock does this key open and who the heck is Robert?  

Maybe there is a stash a money hidden in locker number 3.

Maybe it's a safety deposit key where the jewels are hidden.

What do you suppose is the story?

Tell me.....I'm listening.

This is Dedicated to the One I Love

My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary this weekend.  I love him more today than the day we married twenty eight years ago.

I found this vintage wedding cake topper and thought it was so sweet.  Someone saved it for years in a little white box as you see it here along with a tiny bar of soap.  I think it may be from the hotel where they honeymooned.  

If only this tiny little couple could talk.

I wonder what they would have to say.
