Serendipity (ser'en-dip'-e-ti) :Is the effect by which one accidentally stumbles upon something fortunate, especially while looking for something entirely unrelated.

Marie

Look what came in the mail yesterday.
 A colorful beautiful and handmade
Marie Antoinette clutch purse.

It came from Amy of Vintage Marketplace.  I won her giveaway.  I hope you will go pay her a visit (here).  She also has an Etsy store.

I'll be taking Marie out with me today.

Thank you so much Amy!
I love it!

Serendipity

Serendipity today was finding another green bug parked right next to my green bug.
Now what are the chances of that?

She Has a Secret

Look what cutie found me the other day.

She may be cute but she has a secret.

I'll give you a hint.
She lives in the kitchen.

Need another hint?

She hides a certain appliance
beneath that pretty skirt of hers.

She is a vintage toaster doll.

She sits on top of the toaster when it
isn't being used.
Who wants to look at that
ugly (but necessary) appliance when you can look at this pretty face instead.

We Just Brought Home Six Babies

We just brought home six babies.
Did that get your attention?
Six baby chickens.

Awww... Aren't they cute?

Hopefully, once grown they will provide us with lots of fresh eggs.

They go right to sleep in your hands.

They will be living in the "nursery" (a plastic swimming pool) for a few weeks before they will go outside.  Do you keep chickens?  Any tips?

Yes Sir, Yes Sir, Three Bags Full

Well maybe not three bags, but I found one HUGE garbage bag full of antique doilies and linens.

After finding a couple of small doilies at a garage sale, the lady asked me if I would like to see more and of course I said "yes please".

She brought out one huge bag of antique table cloths and doilies.  I asked for a price for the whole bag and she made me a deal I could not refuse.  These photos are only a small portion of what I got.

I think some of the handiwork of these items go under-appreciated.  Hours and hours of work went into these.  Some of these will go into the shop and some will be re-purposed as lampshades or artwork.

I found this vintage sweetie recently at the thrift store.

She was "rescued" from a pile of forgotten stuffed animals and toys.  She is a boudoir doll.  Her skirt opens to hold pajamas or a nightie.  She was probably made in the 1920's.  I was excited to find her and the best part was the price of $1.00.

I have been blessed to be the recipient of a couple of giveaways recently.  I'd love to share with you what came in the mail recently.
First up I won this assortment of beautiful cards and flower seeds from Mary at Hope Filled Living.
Mary has a kind heart and beautiful blog.  I hope you will visit her.  Thank you Mary.

The next gift was sent to me from Cindy at Retro Revival. Don't forget to visit Cindy and tell her I sent you.  I love her blog and she makes the cutest aprons.  Cindy sent me an adorable vintage sugar shaker tin.  It will be perfect for sprinkling powdered sugar on my strawberry crepes.  Thank you Cindy.

Hope you are smiling today.
Sending out love and hugs to you.

Welcome new friends.  Thank you for following me.

Good Friday

Today is a day of reflection for me.  I am thinking about the great sacrifice my Lord has made for me and for you.  It is an act of extreme love and forgiveness.

On this Easter Sunday, I will celebrate His resurrection with joy, love, and thankfulness.

By His grace I am indeed
BLESSED.

I received this beautifully decorated book for Easter sent to me by my good friend Donna.   The little marble plaque of Christ was given to me by my friend Cathy.  I am grateful for friends that touch me with the love of Christ.

Blessings,
Danielle
