Here Kitty Kitty

She sat on the shelf at the Goodwill. I saw her sweet smile and I said "Here Kitty, Kitty". She jumped right off the shelf and into my basket. She now lives at home with me. She must know that I will give her a good home.

She is right.

Meow.

Crazy For Pyrex

On the other side of my kitchen is this green cupboard. It is currently used to hold my vintage collection of Pyrex.

Do you like Pyrex? I have always thought some of the vintage patterns hold a certain charm.

Here is my collection.

On the top of my hutch there is a vintage pastry display. You can almost imagine it on the diner counter displaying pie slices or pieces of chocolate cake. I use it to display some of my vintage dishtowels.

This tiny little couple dances happily atop my petite vintage scale.

What makes me happier than finding a new piece to add to my collection?

Being able to use and enjoy my pieces everyday.

Kitchen Tour

Thank you to everyone who commented on my teacup chandelier. Wow, I never thought I would receive so many nice comments and compliments. You made my week.

A couple of you asked to see the rest of my kitchen. So here it is.

The teacup chandy lives happily over my sink. I love the light it puts out. The vintage Dinner Bell porcelain sign is a favorite breakfast diner we love to eat at. I found it at a garage sale for ten dollars.

The vintage Wedgewood gas stove is original to the house. I think it adds a bit of charm to the kitchen. It may not be as convenient as a modern one, but I love it still. You can even make pancakes right on top on the built in griddle.

I love collecting this vintage jadite glassware made by Fireking. I just found this antique enameled Bread box in the "jadite" color.

My sweet husband bought some fresh flowers for me today. They sure do make me smile.

Teacup Chandelier

I have been wanting to make this teacup chandelier for quite some time and I finally did it.

It started out as this shiny brass retro (not in a good way) light fixture. This is the type of light fixture that had some glass panels that hung from the spokes (you know the kind). I happily paid the thrift store price of $2.49 because I knew it had "good bones".

It had the perfect form for me to hang my spoons and teacups on.

I spray painted my new chandelier white and I added the little wooden knobs on the ends of the spokes because we don't want to lose any of those pretty teacups.

I added mismatched vintage spoons, my favorite teacups, and lots of crystals.

It's the perfect addition to my kitchen.
