Hello there. How are you today? I thought I would share with you the quilt I made using vintage sheets.
I was inspired to make this by the infamous Anthropologie ruffled shower curtain. You know the one, and rather expensive in my opinion.
So, I began collecting vintage sheets from thrift stores and garage sales and then got busy.
(pillow case details) These were also thrifted.
I sat with my sewing machine many hours making this quilt and I think it's sort of Anthropologie-ish don't you? At the very least I can say it's one of a kind.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Welcome new friends!
xo,
Danielle

Your bed cover is brilliant; colorful and creative and definitely one of a kind.
Danielle- That is an amazing coverlet. I absolutely love it. I can tell it took hours and hours to make. I'll bet it is heavy, too, isn't it? xo Diana
Danielle...better than Anthro...something I will certainly attempt. I can't believe how gorgeous it is. Smiles...Renee

Capers of the vintage vixens
It is beautiful Danielle! I dare even say better than anything you might find at Anthropologie!!
This is awesome! Just love it!! xo natalea
So soft and comfy looking, but what I like best is the way the colors turned out. Did you plan it carefully or wing as you went? The effect is so sweet.
Liz
It is splendid. I look for 1960's vintage percale sheets all the time. That is all we sleep on but you have taken it twenty steps better!
It's only one of a kind until we all start copying you! I'm pinning this. ~ Maureen
That is just darling!! Every hour that you spent making it was well worth it. And yes, your quilt is very Anthro!
LOVE, Love, Love this adorable quilt!! Definitely a great knock-off.
Mary Alice
Dang that is cute! Kate has been wanting some funky bedcover for her college dorm and that would be awesome. Will have to show it to her. You rocked that girl!
Love it. Beautiful. You must have worked on it for hours and days. TFS. Ana
Ohhh it is just darling darling darling!! And yes indeed Anthro prices are bananas! Urban Outfitters (owned by Anthro) have similar pieces a little more affordable...which is where we got our bedding....much like the waterfall bedding in an ombre.
Fabulous job! :)
Thank bunches for popping by my blog and leaving such sweet words. :)
Love from the NJ Shore!
xo Jenny
So beautiful!!!
Wow, its even better than the Anthro curtain, it looks like your ruffles are folded over and double! Really nice!
Oh, btw I've just become a follower! Love your quilt and LOVE your studio!!!
My mouth is hanging open!! Ruffles! Oh.My.Gosh. This is just inspired. I feel like such a slacker that I can't even manage to get a couple of curtains sewn and you made this extravaganza of perfection. I usually just shout out a high-five but this is a chest bump.
Well, your many hours of labor sure paid off...that is one amazing bed quilt! I am in love and inspired!! Thank you so much for posting and sharing.
It looks so luxurious! Love it. Thanks for joining the party at Share the Love Wednesday!

What a great idea! I have collected some vintage sheets and now I know what to do with them! I think it looks even better than the Anthro curtain....and that's saying a lot because I love Anthro!
Danielle,
This is fabulous! You should sell these! It would look amazing on my full size guest room bed (always a tough size to find something for) - a true work of art!
Pinning this (even though I can't sew a button - a girl can dream)!

Danielle! What a beautiful and yes, very Anthro-ish quilt you made! Love the way you re-purposed the vintage sheets into something so artful and useful. Love Anthropologie, but agree they are often too overpriced. Your quilt looks wonderful in the room. Great wall color!
I got excited because I just bought a vintage sheet in the same pattern as the second ruffle down in the close up pic! :-)
Just visited your studio, and am a new follower, but I had to tell you how wonderful this coverlet is!!!!!! What a great idea!!!!
Danielle, Your creative space was such a joy to visit. There were so many vintage items for storage that I had never heard about. Satin glove boxes, beautiful! Your window treatment, inspirational! This bedspread is a revelation to me. Such creativity to be found here. Elizabeth
Wow, your ruffled bed cover is amazing! Love that. And the cute little beaded bird too.

Oh my...dis you do all that beauty????~
Marvelous!!!
Thanks for sharing!
That "thing" about "people being transparent" is kind of a privet joke: my school master is nothing but transparent - He's a bad, corrupt man. But he claims that is actions are "transparent" ( we know that it is the opposite"! This a joke...The meaning is that if he's so transparent I do not need to SEE him...or say "Hello"!
Have a blessed day!~´

That is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Visiting from Ivy and Elephants. Would love it it you would share this at my Make it Pretty Monday party @TheDedicatedHouse. http://thededicatedhouse.blogspot.com/2012/07/make-it-pretty-monday-week-6.html Wishing you a grand week. Your quilt is beautiful!! Im sure it tooka long time to make. Will you be sharing how you made it?
It is, by far, prettier than the Anthropologie beadspread. Love how the different sheet designs all work together. You did a fabulous job on this!
Saw your spread over at Common Ground today - wow Danielle! Girl, you have been busy! What a great idea and it turned out wonderfully. Anthro - look out!
This is amazing! You rock! Thanks for sharing this at Potpourri Friday!
I have seen these using the white or soft pastel solid fabrics but this is a fantastic idea using different vintage sheets!! I just sold 2 gorgeous sheets from my booth the other day- wonder if she was going to do something like this with them- makes me wish I had them now!

This is so very lovely. I'm pasting this to my file of things to make for a future Grand-Girl, my "Fingers-Firmly-Crossed" file.
Oh my sweet goodness!
This is wonderful. I love the look of it. The colors and...the fact that it is recycled materials.
I hope you give a tutorial on how to do this.
This would be so sweet in my grand-daughter's room.
Pat
Gorgeous colors and what a fabulous coverlet. Want to know what I love most? How all of us have all these different tastes and passions and yet we converge upon one another and become blogger friends. Different tastes come together and make us rethink what we are doing sometimes. LOVE IT!

That is one of the cutest quilts I've ever seen! Love it!!
Let me be #98 to tell you this is fabulous. You have way more patience than I do.
Just came over from Freckled Laundry, and WOW!!! That is a fabulous piece of work! I love it! Very Anthro.
This is BEAUTIFUL!!!
Are you kidding us...it's GORGEOUS! Wow, patience of a saint in making that I'm sure....
Janet
This looks awesome! I think it has a lot more charm than a store-bought one. Everyone with a big budget and/or their personal interior designer can have that, but making your own is so much more unique! Way to go, girl!
Wow, that is totally awesome! I might do a future blog post with creations of my favorite bloggers, and this project is going to be featured with your permission, of course....
Great Job, very inspirational!
I have no idea how I missed this! Wow, it's fabulous and a real labor of love worth every bit of time it took to create it. Stunning!!
Oh my goodness, I don't have words! I know how tedious it is to make ruffles, so I am in awe of this! Just beautiful!!
I'm speechless! This is so beautiful! Found you on Wow Us Wednesdays and shared your creation on my Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/studio1404
GORGEOUS! It has an Anthropologie vibe but yours is so much more special and I just love the vintage touch. Amazing!
I found this featured on Ivy and Elephants. It's really very lovely and summery!
OMGoodnessssss....This quilt is absolutely divine!!! I am totally in love. If I'd made this, I think I'd just sit & stare ... & drool over what a good job I'd done ;)
Blessings~
This is Melissa @ Daisy Mae Belle. I LOVE this quilt! I am redecorating my 12 year old daughter's room right now. She loves Anthropologie, but I do not love the price tag! We are trying to give her the "look" through thrift store and yard sale finds! I am pinning this! I am your newest "linky" follower!
I think BETTER than Anthropology because YOU made it! LOVE...LOVE...LOVE...and you have inspired me to use my sheets!!! I have a closet full of them and an entire three drawer dresser, too.
Loved my visit today! Wish you were my neighbor! We'd have so much fun!
Becky

I wanted to stop by and leave a comment, not even sure that you will even see it. Wow, I'm #120 to tell you how fabulous this is. Love all the ruffles. I'm actually saving material right now to sew a similar quilt, I'm going for the shabby chic look using pinks, light greens and white. It will be a long time before mine will be finished. Until then, I'll admire yours!!
This is what I want in my daughters room! So pretty! I love the headboard also. Beautifully vintage. Can't wait to read through your blog some more.
