Sweet

Who doesn't love these little sentimental candy hearts this time of year?

Email me, text me, I love you.
They have a bunch of different little sayings on them.

Many ways to say something a little sweet to someone sweet.

When I was sixteen, I hand selected some special ones for a boy I liked.  I wanted to say these things myself, but being the shy girl I was, I decided to drop little hints as to how I was feeling was a better idea.  After I chose all the perfect little sweet hearts that said the perfect thoughts, I bagged them up and tied the bag with a pretty bow.

How very clever (I thought to myself) as I presented this little gift to the boy.
He took the bag from me and opened it.  He poured some out into his hand and without even giving them any thought, he popped them all into his mouth.  Horrors! Did he not realize that I hand picked those? Oh great I thought.  Now he didn't even read any of those.  All my hard work picking out the ones that had the perfect sayings on them but was too afraid to say.  Ones that told the story of my heart, gone forever!  Swallowed without even a thought.

Good thing I married the boy.  Now I can tell him what's on my heart anytime I want.
And that is

SWEET.

xo,
Danielle

Such a pretty post. Who can't remember those candies. I think everyone has a beautiful story like yours whenit comes to these sweet candies. Now M&M is doing the same. But there is nothing like these. They not only hold a sweet sentiment but also tell a story. Maybe the company that makes them should have a book written. They could ask people to mail in there stories and they will pick the better ones. I bet your will be one of the ones chosen. Post like these is why I love the blogging world.
Thanks for the good memories.
Have a great weekend.

Email me, text me? I guess I haven't bought those hearts for a while. Or maybe I just popped them in my mouth without reading them first!

I love your story, I'm pretty sure you must have told him at some point how you feel, right? I love those little candies too. In fact a bought 5 little boxes to put in my candy dish for Valentine's Day. I thought that would be plenty. Problems though - every time I walked by, I picked some up to munch on. It is not even here yet and all five boxes are gone! Horrors!

Very sweet story Danielle! It reminds me of when my husband and I first married. Things were very tight financially but I wanted us to celebrate Valentine's Day. So, I purchased a bag of those conversation hearts and we sat at the kitchen table writing poems to each other. Mine to him was titled "Cool Dude" and his to me was "My Girl". Thanks for the memory :)

Have a blessed weekend and beautiful photos!

What a typical thing for a guy to do. Well they do say the way to their heart is thru their stomach, so he must have gotten the message!

Omg, that was a great story! Men! It just figures that he plopped the whole handful in his mouth without looking... sooo funny.
When i was a kid, none of them said email me, or text me. They said things like, i heart bison legs, or you are my favorite cave man...
