Estate Sale Vintage Finds

I went to an estate sale

and found a few things.

Estate sales are interesting.  

It gives a peek into someone elses life.

Things that were saved.

Things that meant something to somebody.

A lifetime of memories.

I found these books beautiful.

They are written in another language (German?) and they are quite worn and fragile. I can only imagine the people that turned the pages over the years.

A surprise fell out while admiring

the gorgeous text.

It looks like Albert may have been

the last to read this book.

The Friendship Box

Since I have started blogging, I have met some pretty wonderful kindred souls in blogland.  I have experienced a lot through blogging and following along right there with other bloggers.

 I have

laughed out loud

rejoiced with

prayed for

cried with

been challenged by

 and have received so much

inspiration from these women.

 One of those women (whose name is Donna) with a kind and generous heart reached out to me and told me that she really wanted to send me something.  It was going to be a surprise she said. It wasn't my birthday.  I hadn't won a giveaway. I wondered why she would want to send something to me.  To me really? A surprise?  I was so curious.  I was intrigued.  I was humbled.  Well today my surprise was waiting for me at my door.  Like a little child on Christmas morning, I couldn't wait to see what was inside.  I carefully opened the box.

Inside the first thing I saw was

this beautiful card.

The card is beautiful

and I am sure handmade

by Donna herself.

 I just love that.

Inside the box was this beautiful beaded purse, lots of sparkly earrings, and a gorgeous mirrored tray.

And the gifts kept coming.

These darling porcelin dolls.

This cute wire bird basket.

Beautiful vintage china

and an antique skeleton key.

Donna, you thought I might enjoy these things 

and you were right.

I love everything you sent me.

I am grateful and I am humbled that you would think of me, a fellow blogger.

Even though we have never spoke on the phone or met in person, I feel so special and loved.

What's on my Fall Mantle Right Now

I know many of you have had your fall mantle decorated for awhile now.  Yesterday I got the bug to foof up mine.

I found this antique clock at the thrift store.  It has the most wonderful sounding chime.

Halloween Treats

I am a lucky girl.

Flea Market Raven

While shopping at the flea market

last weekend I spied this girl.

She is a decoy and is quite large (about 19 inches long).  She is a raven.  Don't get her confused with a crow.  Ravens are quite large and are abundant here in Arizona.  Some ravens grow even bigger than this.

 This sweetie loves her diamonds.

Shhhh....

Don't tell her that her diamonds aren't real.

She thinks they are and I'm fine with that.

Toasty

This is what I was doing last night.

Roasting marshmellows in our new firepit.  It's an antique cast iron wood stove "salvaged" from a garage sale

for a mere ten bucks.

Aahhhh... tasty toasty marshmellows and my honey.
