Tin Types

I  found these yesterday.
Tin type pictures fascinate me.

It is almost like these little
moments in time are captured.
If they could speak, I wonder
what would they tell us.

I found these little beauties
amongst several vintage photos.
I always wonder why the family
doesn't keep these precious photos.

So I adopt them and they
can be appreciated once more.

I also found this pretty lace
that will be used for a future project.

Thank you everyone who has left
me some love recently over the
last post. I appreciate it much more
than you will ever know.

Welcome new friends!

xo,
Danielle

Handle With Care

Have you ever really thought about
the words on office stamps?

Couldn't they possibly describe the way
one feels on any given day?

I found this cutie pie stamp holder
complete with stamps.
I would like to think
we all deserve to have some
special handling, don't you agree?

Lately, I have read on quite
a few blogs that being happy
all the time on our blogs isn't authentic.
I don't know about you, but I would
rather see the glass half full.

How may I say this gently?

I am a happy person
 and I don't mind sharing
and spreading some love.

I naturally look for the beauty
in people, places and things.

Sadly there is enough negativity
and sadness in the world.

What is wrong with sharing some happiness?
Do we really need some more drama
in our lives?

Yes there are days when I am feeling

discouraged
sad
lonely
defeated

I am human after all.

The blogging community is great.

I see bloggers lifting each other
up and praying for one another
day after day.

This is all good.

Personally, I just don't think
that everyone wants to be
deluged with too much of
the "heavy stuff".
I choose to focus on the positive.
That is just me.

I am not "faking it".
I am not pretending to be
someone I am not, nor do I
proclaim to be perfect or have
a perfect life.
If I happen to feel happy
please just let me be.

When someone comes for a visit here
I want them to feel loved
and sometimes I just want them
to see something pretty.

It is my blog after all,
so I should be able to post
anyway that I would like.

I don't do glass half empty very well.
I am not that way in my "real" life
and I shouldn't have to change for my blog.

I am not judging those who
share deeply on their blogs
and put themselves out there
with what is going on
in their lives.  I applaud
their honesty and vulnerability.

I just don't want to be
judged for wanting to share the
way I want to share on my blog.

So please tell me. . .

What is wrong with happy?

I thank you for letting me share.

Danielle

On My Walk Today

Thought I would share with you some beauty I saw today.

God is good
all the time.

All the time
God is good.

I really hope that you are able
to take a little time
to stop and smell the flowers.

Lend Me A Hand

I am loving these white porcelain
glove molds right now.

Originally used to make rubber gloves,
they now hold my jewelry.

I hope you are having a good week.
Thank you friends for all your nice
comments and thoughts.

Welcome new friends.

Thrifted Violets

If roses are red . . .

. . . are violets really blue?
They look more purple to me.

I happily paid
the asking price of $3.99
and it was mine.

Gotta love thrift stores.

Wishing you a blessed
and happy day.

Happy Weekend

"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity.

These are but trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable."

Joseph Addison

Wishing you many smiles this weekend!

What if we all smiled more?  What would the world be like then?

I would love to challenge you with this:
To smile at three people whom you do not know today.

Sometimes a smile is all a person needs
to lift them up and brighten their day.

Let's all smile more.

Nesting

I received a little gift in the mail from
Sandi of Wayside Treasures
Thank you so much Sandi.  I love it.

Look at this sweet little nest she sent me
including the butterfly, handmade tags
and a beautiful nest card.

Oh my!
It looks as though some little birdies
have moved right in.

The Red Rocks of Sedona

We took a little road trip today
to Sedona.  Lola tagged along.

Sedona is known
for its beautiful
red rock formations.

Beauty so breathtaking
that you believe
you are living in a postcard.

Built high into the side of the rocks
is the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

A feeling of peacefulness
came over me
once I entered the chapel.

The awesome beauty created
by God is the view
behind the altar.

It was a beautiful day.

Hope you have something fun
planned for the weekend.
