Drinking from a Saucer

A friend gave me this little saucer

and I came across it today.

  I think it was a gentle reminder from above.

The paper is wrinkled

and a little worn,

but it is still

a beautiful reminder

of my many blessings.

Drinking From a Saucer

I have never made a fortune

and it's probably too late now,

I don't worry about that much,

I am happy anyhow.

As I go along life's journey,

reaping more than

I have sowed,

I am drinking from a saucer

cause my cup

has overflowed.

I don't have lots of riches

and sometimes the going's tough.

I have family that loves me and

that is quite enough.

I thank the Lord for his blessings

and his mercies he's bestowed.

I'm drinking from a saucer

because

my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things

went wrong and

my faith got a little thin,

and then all at once the dark clouds

broke and the sun peeped in.

Lord, please help me not to gripe

about the tough rows I have hoed.

I am drinking from a saucer

because my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me

strength and courage

when my way grows

deep and tough,

I will not ask for blessings,

I'm already blessed enough.

May I never be too busy

to help another bear his load,

I will keep drinking from a saucer,

cause my cup has overflowed.

We had a little dusting

of snow last night.

Just enough to make some heart prints

And just like these prints . . . . .

We are putting our house up for sale

Lola Has a New Outfit

Got out the feather weight to make Lola a new outfit.

I found some really soft fleece that I thought would make a cute sweater for Lola.

I love my little singer.  She is so much fun to sew with.  I didn't really have a pattern, I just kind of winged it.

There you go baby.  You'll be warm now.  This dog has short fur, she is ALWAYS cold and there just isn't a lot of sweaters made for larger dogs.

I don't know why Lola is so weird about having her picture taken.

Hope you are warm and cozy where ever you are.

The Generosity of Bloggers

I won not one, but two giveaways and they were waiting for me when I arrived in Oregon.

The first is a giveaway I won from 

Tina of Tiny Bear.

Look at the wrapping.  Such a treat in itself.

Look at what was inside.

A wonderful collage created with vintage elements.  A white glove that holds bits of lace and pages from an old book, snippets of antique lace, a sparkly pin,  a darling little photo all against vintage sheet music. She build this collage on an old cabinet card with this darling baby on the reverse.

I love every detail. Thank you so very much Tina!  I will display this piece and treasure it always.

I also won a giveaway from

Polly of the French Cupboard.

She sent a package filled to the brim with wonderful goodies all inside a tin piece with a heart punched into the metal.  Just darling!

She also included some supplies to create another cone with.

I just love everything.

Sights Along The Oregon Coast

I saw Paul Bunyan and his blue ox Babe today.

They were HUGE!

So were the trees.

I saw lots of elk and was able to get close so I could get some good pictures.

I think they were used to cars with people taking their pictures.

Magnificent creatures.

I saw lots of sea lions,

and a pretty lighthouse.

Can you see the bald eagle?

Good thing this guy only eats plants......right?

En Route

I am on the road.  I am seeing lots of beautiful scenery

and

 I am headed here -

Thank you all who had such encouraging words of comfort and love on my last post.  I have always had a great love for animals and when I lose one of my own it feels like a loss in our family.  I know that those of you that have lost a pet know exactly what I mean.  I just wanted to let you know that your outpouring of love really touched my heart.  Thank you.
