Book Wreath

What's black and white and "red" all over?

How about a dictionary wreath?

I have been seeing versions of this
all over blogland.

Would you like to know how I made mine?
Ok, I will show you.

You will need an old book (preferably with yellowed or darkened pages) and one that you don't mind recycling.  You also need a foam wreath form (I got mine at the dollar store) and a large flower punch.

Punch out lots and lots of flower shapes.  You will need a bunch.

Using a crochet hook or whatever other similar tool you may have handy,
"Scrunch" a bunch of the flower cutouts.

Start gluing these scrunched flowers to the wreath very close together.  I found that a glue gun was the most effective way to glue these.

I used the crochet hook to help push the flowers down into the hot glue.

Keep on gluing until the wreath is covered.

The wreath has an antique quality, almost reminds me of dried hydrangeas.

Easy Peasy.

Rosette Love

I received a package today.  I love getting packages in the mail!  I won a giveaway from Jill of Gypsy Brocante.  Look at how she wrapped it.  Don't you just love the crocheted flower and vines that are so lovingly wrapped around the package?

I felt like it was my birthday!

Oh my goodness!  It nearly took my breath away as I carefully unwrapped this beauty.

A beautifully handmade scarf and matching rosette.  Jill, did you know that I would absolutely LOVE this?  Well I do.  The colors and vintage-y feel of this - so ME!

Thank you, thank you,
thank you!

Please go visit
at her blog
and tell her I sent you.
She has a beautiful blog and wonderful things in her shop as well.

You might even talk her into making one of these scarves for you.

Thank you friends for letting me share with you.

I'm hoping you remembered to enter my giveaway that I have going on (here).  You still have time.

xo,
Danielle
